New Reviews:

When Travis Scott first burst into the music industry in 2013, his work with Kanye West, T.I., and Jay-Z demonstrated a unique and trippy tone to the traditional image of rappers and the hip-hop scene. While many mainstream rappers at this point maintained a steady output of topics including gang violence, crime, and braggadocios swagger, Travis’ music focused more on the psychedelic and surreal world of drug and alcohol abuse. His musical persona seems to reflect that of a rockstar rather than a rapper–largely disinterested with the world around him, materialistic, anti-society, and obsessed with style.

His highly anticipated album Astroworld brought all the numerous aspects of his character and music into a heightened and focused work of creative mastery.

Rating: 8.5/10

On his third studio album, Travis Scott delivers a powerful and striking vision of youth, drug addiction, fame, perversion, and materialism. Standout tracks include: Can’t Say, Yosemite, Skeletons, Sicko Mode, and Stargazing.
